About FactoryCarts.com
Thanks for visiting FactoryCarts.com!
My name is Nick Reuter. For a living, I buy and sell large industrial power plant equipment for a business in Newport News, Virginia. I founded FactoryCarts.com after stumbling upon a Lineberry cart for the first time on a business trip in 2012. I was at a manufacturing plant that had recently been decommissioned due to the operation being moved overseas. Like countless previous trips, I had planned on inspecting the power station equipment so that I could purchase it for re-sale to both foreign and domestic clients.
As I made my way around the facility, I noticed a few wooden carts that appeared to be very robustly built. I finally walked over to one to get a closer look and was amazed by the level of detail poured into an item designed for such a crude task. I was shocked by the beveled design of its cast iron wheels and the unique serial numbers cast into its hardware. It was clear that whoever had designed this tool was an absolute craftsman and took great pride in their work. It also saddened me to know that in today's outsourced economy, such a robustly built product was a one-way ticket to corporate extinction. A carefully built tool like this is nearly impossible to find in the 21st century.
I bought the three carts I could find and had them shipped back to my office in Virginia. As soon as they returned, I disassembled them to learn more about their features. This impromptu business trip had started what would become a deep passion... or as my wife would put it... an OBSESSION!
Today I offer some of my collection for sale. I love the idea of sharing these pieces of history with fellow enthusiasts of well built products. It gives me an excuse to disassemble and restore life to such a fascinating tool from the early 1900s. Thank you for the opportunity to share my passion (obsession) with you!
